CHIEF INSPECTOR QA/QC
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Technical Support and Operational Excellence, the Chief QA/QC Inspector works collaboratively with members of the Group’s various business units to manage quality inspection services for a specific project.
The incumbent is responsible for implementing the quality control program on-site, supervising inspections, and ensuring that all work complies with technical and contractual requirements.
TASKS
- Ensure compliance with the quality control manual for all on-site work.
- Develop and implement inspection and testing plans; prepare QA/QC indicators for completed work.
- Verify specifications, inspection requirements, and codes during submissions.
- Obtain required certifications and qualifications for the project.
- Perform and supervise inspections on projects.
- Monitor inspection and compliance of applicable subcontractors.
- Coordinate the production of “history docket” documents for the client.
- Manage, supervise, and train personnel as needed.
- Ensure compliance and training follow-up for supervised personnel according to Gastier and client HSE requirements.
- Provide technical clarifications to execution teams on all quality-related issues and promote QA/QC culture in line with the established quality program.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Academic
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent relevant experience in quality control on construction sites.
Experience and qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of construction experience in the energy and petrochemical industries.
- Minimum 10 years of experience with compliance requests, reviews, and government requirements (RBQ, NBIC, and related forms).
- API 570 and API 653 certifications (API 510 is an asset).
- NDE certifications (MT, PT, and VT) per SNT-TC-1A or equivalent.
- Knowledge of ASME codes: Section I, Section VIII Div.1, Section IX, and NBIC Part 3.
- ASP card.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent command of French (oral and written).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to read plans and specifications.
- Experience in pressure equipment installation declarations with RBQ.
- Certified CWB Inspector CSA 178.2 Level 2 or higher.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English to interact with colleagues worldwide.
