CAD DESIGNER
JOB SUMMARY
Under the responsibility of the Mechanical Department Manager, the CAD Designer works closely with team members to produce mainly 2D and 3D drawings required for piping fabrication, modularization, and mechanically welded assemblies, while ensuring compliance with applicable technical standards and specifications.
The incumbent provides technical support and makes required drawing modifications based on shop needs, in order to adapt designs to specific project or customer requirements.
TASKS
- Create drawings for the fabrication of piping spools, modules, and equipment in accordance with technical specifications;
- Model complex 3D systems, including piping assemblies and modular structures;
- Prepare, maintain, and update project-related technical documentation, including specifications, data sheets, and fabrication files;
- Integrate and process point clouds obtained from 3D scanning;
- Analyze and recommend improvements to optimize fabrication and modularization processes;
- Train and support new team members in the use of design software and shop procedures;
- Perform any other related tasks.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Academic
-
Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) or Attestation of Collegial Studies (ACS) in industrial drafting or other relevant training.
Experience and skills

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role;

Required experience in an industrial environment;

In-depth knowledge of piping systems and welding processes;

Proficiency with 3D scanning tools and point cloud processing;

Proficiency in AutoCAD, SPOOLCAD, Excel, Inventor, and Navisworks.
